‘Dancing with the Stars’ Mirror Ball update: Lindsey Stirling dethrones Jordan Fisher as frontrunner

Broadway and TV actor Jordan Fisher was the frontrunner to win the “Dancing with the Stars” season 25 Mirror Ball Trophy going into last week’s season premiere. He tied for the top judges’ score (two 7s and an 8 for a total of 21 out of 30), but nevertheless he has dropped to second place in our winner predictions going into week two of the competition.

Now violinist Lindsey Stirling is the one to beat. She got the same judges’ score as Fisher, but on top of that she got to close the show, and she’s paired with fan-favorite and two-time Mirror Ball champ Mark Ballas. As of this writing Stirling gets leading odds of 3/2, which translates to a 40% chance of winning. That’s way up from last week when she had 7/2 odds (21% chance of winning).

But Stirling’s lead is narrow. In fact, though her odds have skyrocketed from week to week, Fisher’s have actually been stable. He’s holding onto second place with 21/10 odds (32% chance of winning); those are the exact same odds he had in week one. So it appears that most of the users who were predicting Fisher before are sticking with him now, while Stirling has picked up support from users who have jumped ship from other possible contenders.

Ranked third this week with 16/1 odds (6.2% chance of winning) is NFL player Terrell Owens, even though he had one of the lowest judges’ scores in week one. WWE wrestler Nikki Bella is fourth with 18/1 odds (5.2% chance of winning), while Paralympian Victoria Arlen rounds out the top five with 20/1 odds (4.8% chance of winning).
