‘Dancing with the Stars’: Normani Kordei’s top-scoring foxtrot was in ‘a whole other realm’ [WATCH]

Normani Kordei hit the jackpot in week three of “Dancing with the Stars.” It was the show’s first ever “Vegas Night,” and she performed a foxtrot with her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy that received the highest score of the night — the highest score of the season so far, actually. They received two 8s and two 9s for a total of 34 out of 40. Having been the judges’ favorites for two weeks in a row, can she keep up the momentum all the way to the Mirror Ball Trophy at the end of the season?

“Hey, big splendor!” said Bruno Tonioli, punning on the title of the song Kordei danced to, “Big Spender” by Shirley Bassey. “That was fabulous, the best dance tonight in my eyes.” Carrie Ann Inaba was just as effusive: “You just danced yourself into a whole other realm,” she said. Len Goodman added that it was “a fantastic routine” that was “full of joy,” though he would have liked to see more of the dance in hold. Julianne Hough concluded the judges critiques — well, not so much critiques as gushing — by saying, “That was more than a foxtrot. That was a number that you go to see on Broadway.”
