Olympic gymnast Simone Biles has been the “Dancing with the Stars” frontrunner since she was announced as a contestant at the beginning of March, and her continued success on the show is thanks in no small part to her pro partner Sasha Farber. Biles talked about their partnership with Ellen DeGeneres when she appeared on the April 17 episode of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” but it ended with a scary surprise from Farber (watch above).
“He has a good sense of humor, he’s funny, he’s very patient,” said Biles about her lovable pro, “but then once it’s time to do the dance in that minute and 30 seconds it’s down to business.” DeGeneres also noted that Farber is a prankster, but Biles didn’t pick up on the hint. “He hasn’t pranked me yet, so I’m nervous.” She didn’t have to wait long: Farber immediately popped out from a hidden box to give Biles a fright, continuing a longstanding “Ellen” tradition of scaring her celebrity guests in the middle of interviews.
“She’s a true inspiration,” said Farber when he officially joined their interview in the next segment. “Now that I get to dance with her it’s out of this world.” After their interview, Biles and Farber reprised their cha cha from week-two. But how will Biles do on “DWTS” tonight when she dances to “How Far I’ll Go” from “Moana” on “Disney Night“?
