Olympic gymnast Simone Biles hasn’t had the high score on “Dancing with the Stars” since the very first week of the competition, but she still hasn’t let go of the top spot in our predictions for who will win the Mirror Ball Trophy. In fact, after her impressive “Moana” contemporary dance last week on “Disney Night,” she’s holding steady. Check out our latest odds here.
Biles tops our predictions with odds of 21/20, which translates to a 49% chance of winning the season. That’s almost exactly the same as her odds going into last week’s show — less than one-percent lower. While she didn’t get the highest score on “Disney Night,” she wasn’t far from it. She received two 9s and two perfect 10s from the judges for a total of 38 out of 40, just one point behind singer Normani Kordei, who received 39 points for her “Mulan”-inspired paso doble.
It’s no surprise then that Kordei has moved up in our predictions this week. She has improved from third place back up to second with odds of 10/3 (23% chance of winning the Mirror Ball Trophy). That’s much better than last week, when we gave her 11/2 odds (14% chance of winning).
Football player Rashad Jennings had an off week. His “Beauty and the Beast” foxtrot left him third from the bottom on the judges’ leaderboard (32 out of 40), so he has dropped down in our predictions from second place to third. He currently gets 6/1 odds (14% chance of winning), down from last week’s 4/1 odds (20% chance of winning).
Still in fourth place is actress Heather Morris. The judges disagreed about her “Frozen” jazz number last week, giving her a total of 34 out of 40, which tied her with “Bachelor” star Nick Viall for fourth place for the night. She has yet to receive a top score this season, but she continues to have a solid lock on the top four with 8/1 odds (11% chance of winning). That’s actually an improvement from last week’s 9/1 odds, which was less than one percentage point lower.
As usual, no one comes close to those four in our predictions. The closest is Viall in fifth place with distant 66/1 odds (2% chance of winning). So if our users are right we may just be biding our time until the field narrows to those four. Then we’ll have a competition on our hands.
