After weeks of our users being indecisive between Jordan Fisher and Lindsey Stirling as the Mirror Ball Trophy frontrunner on “Dancing with the Stars,” Fisher has started to run away with the competition. In week nine of season 25 he has skyrocketed to a new high, getting 8/15 odds as of this writing. That translates to a 65% chance of winning. Fisher has never been in a better position.
It’s easy to see why. Last week on “Trio Night” Fisher outperformed the rest of the field by a wide margin. He performed a quickstep with his pro partner Lindsay Arnold that received a perfect score from the judges: straight 10s for a total of 30 out of 30. Then he performed a trio salsa with Arnold and season 17 runner-up Corbin Bleu that earned another perfect score. No one else had a perfect dance last week, and Fisher managed two of them, which placed him a whopping six points ahead of second place Stirling on the leaderboard.
Stirling also holds onto second place in our predictions, but she’s continuing to lose ground. This week she gets odds of 7/2, or a 21% chance of winning the Mirror Ball Trophy. Can she and her pro partner Mark Ballas regain their momentum from earlier this season? They faced a big challenge on “Halloween Night” when a rib injury put Stirling’s ability to compete in question. She seemed to be on the mend on “Trio Night,” so she might be just a couple of showstopping routines away from getting back on top.
