DGA TV nominations: Ryan Murphy, Donald Glover, Duffer Brothers among contenders

Series creators are represented on both the drama and comedy side of the ledger in this year’s roster of Directors Guild of America TV awards nominees.

The Duffer Brothers (“Stranger Things”), Ryan Murphy (“The People v. O.J. Simpson”) and Jonathan Nolan (“Westworld”) are up against Miguel Sapochnik, the Emmy-winning “Game of Throne” director and Oscar nominee John Singleton who helmed an episode of “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”

Donald Glover is nominated for directing himself in an episode of  his freshman series “Atlanta” while “Silicon Valley” Mike Judge is back in the hunt. They vie against helmers of installments of “Silicon Valley” and “Veep.”
