While AMC’s tent-pole series “The Walking Dead” is currently airing to blockbuster cable numbers, the network reminded us today that their other zombie apocalypse drama — spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead” — is set to return this summer for 16 all-new episodes. While “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 3 is currently in the midst of shooting, now you can get your first look at the cast in these three new photos (one above, two below). Warning: these images may contain spoilers!
The photo above depicts series leads Kim Dickens (Madison Clark) and Cliff Curtis (Travis Manawa) holding hands and staring into each other’s eyes in what looks to be a warehouse of some kind. It’s a rare emotional moment for the series that’s devoid of the normal blood and gore that we’re used to.
For fans of blood, look no further than the image below featuring Colman Domingo (Victor Strand). He’s sitting in a pristine lobby near the ocean, his hands, arms and shirt splattered with blood. Last we saw of Strand he had decided to stay behind at the hotel, but is he now second-guessing that decision?
And the picture far below is of Frank Dillane (Nick Clark) and Danay Garcia (Luciana), who are both overtaken with utter fear. Don’t forget, last season ended with Nick and Luciana being captured by a mysterious group of people, so it seems as though this shot depicts them as prisoners.
Here are some fun “Fear the Walking Dead” Season 3 spoilers, directly from AMC:
“Our families will be brought together in the vibrant and violent ecotone of the U.S.-Mexico border. International lines done away with following the world’s end, our characters must attempt to rebuild not only society, but family as well. Madison (Kim Dickens) has reconnected with Travis (Cliff Curtis), her apocalyptic partner, but Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) has been fractured by her murder of Andres. Madison’s son mere miles from his mother, Nick’s (Frank Dillane) first action as a leader saw Luciana (Danay Garcia) ambushed by an American militia group — the couple escaped death, but Nick no longer feels immortal. Recovering both emotionally and physically, Strand (Colman Domingo) has his sights set on harnessing the new world’s currency, and Ofelia’s (Mercedes Mason) captivity will test her ability to survive and see if she can muster the savagery of her father.”
