“Game of Thrones” won’t be back on HBO till sometime this summer but the paycaster is already promoting the return of the reigning Emmy champ. In advance of this Sunday’s panel at the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, a poster teasing the return of this epic series was created.
As you can see, the elements of fire and ice are combined into one startling image. Could this foretell the coming battle between dragonmaster Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and the Night King’s (Vladimir Furdik) army?
We will bring you all the news from the SXSW panel, where showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss, write most of the episodes as well, are to be joined by Emmy nominee Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark).
At the Emmy Awards last fall, “Game of Thrones” won Best Drama Series for the second year running and tied its record for most series victories in a single year (12), which brought it’s all-time haul to 38. That makes it the most awarded primetime series in Emmy Awards history. However, as it won’t air any new episodes before the May 31 deadline, it will ineligible to contend at the upcoming Emmys. What show do you think will win Best Drama Series in its place?
