‘Game of Thrones’ finale: Who will die in ‘The Dragon and the Wolf’?

The end is nigh! “Game of Thrones” concludes its seventh season on Sunday night, August 27, with the super-sized episode “The Dragon and the Wolf.” HBO announced that the episode will run just under 80 minutes, so there will be extra time for carnage. But who will be the victims of that carnage? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

“Game of Thrones” is known for killing off major characters at shocking times and in shocking ways, but season seven has been relatively light on casualties. True, Arya (Maisie Williams) opened the season by slaughtering the lord of House Frey who murdered her mother and brother at the Red Wedding. Then Cersei (Lena Headey) poisoned Tyene Sand (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers) as revenge for the murder of Cersei’s daughter Myrcella. And Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) forced a vanquished Olenna (Diana Rigg) to drink deadly poison as well. But so far we’ve gotten off easy relative to the show’s usual track record.

Consider that the season six finale included the destruction of the Great Sept that wiped out Cersei’s enemies, including the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce), Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), and Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones). Then, in response to that, Cersei’s last living child Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman) died by suicide. So if “The Dragon and the Wolf” comes anywhere close to that, fans should prepare for bloodshed.

So in anticipation of Sunday night’s show who do you think is most likely to die? There could be multiple right answers, of course, but let us know below, and join the discussion on this and more in our forums.
