Below, check out our “Hell’s Kitchen” recap of Season 17, Episode 10, titled “It’s All Gravy.” Then be sure to sound off in the comments section about your favorite contestants and who you think can go the distance to win this season’s prize of a head chef position at the first-ever Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen Restaurant at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Previously, on “Hell’s Kitchen”! Back in the ninth episode, Ramsay asked for Vincent “Van” Hurd‘s jacket because he failed to communicate properly while running the fish station. Who will be following Van out the door this week?

As the chefs marched into the kitchen for their weekly reward challenge they were greeted by a massive camel standing alongside Ramsay. The host informed the eager contestants that, for centuries, camels carried spices from Asia to Europe. What was the reason for this over-the-top display? The annual “Hell’s Kitchen” blind taste test!

This season the chefs had to identify herbs and spices while blindfolded. If they answered correctly they scored a point. If they were incorrect, one of their teammates would be covered in mashed potatoes and gravy. The Blue Team dominated the blind taste test, defeating the Red Team by a score of 8-2. The winners were sent to dine at Roy Yamaguchi’s signature restaurant. The losers was left to clean up the mess from the challenge and separate peppercorns.

For the dinner service the chefs prepared meals for two important charities. The Red Team cooked for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society while the Blue Team fed Shane’s Inspiration. Each contestant was responsible for one course of a five-course tasting menu. While the Blue Team’s dinner service went relatively smoothly, the Red Team continued to be plagued by drama and mistakes. In an easy decision, Ramsay announced the Red Team’s loss and ordered them to nominate two chefs for elimination.

After a series of heated arguments, the Red Team finalized their nominees: Barbie Marshall and Elise Harris. Ramsay decided that Barbie’s performance that night was the bigger disaster and he eliminated her from the competition.
