‘Jessica Jones’ season 2 premiere date announcement: When does Marvel series return to Netflix?

“Everyone has secrets, if not their own then someone else’s,” says the title character in a new teaser for season two of Netflix’s “Jessica Jones.” The preview doesn’t only give us a glimpse at Jessica’s next adventure, it also announces the premiere date: March 8, 2018. Watch above.

“If you say with great power comes great responsibility, I swear I’ll throw up on you,” she adds. Played by Krysten Ritter, Jessica Jones is a private investigator with super strength solving cases in New York City’s Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. She’s one of a quartet of New York-based Marvel heroes who have been featured on Netflix, also including “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” and “Iron Fist.”

By the time the new season premieres it will have been almost two-and-a-half-years since the first season debuted in November 2015, but Jessica hasn’t been taking it easy. The four Netflix heroes teamed up in 2017 for a crossover miniseries, “The Defenders,” in which they battled Sigourney Weaver and her evil organization known as the Hand. Suffice it to say that Jones survived that battle, but next she’ll have to confront ghosts from her past — maybe literally.

In season one Jessica faced her history of emotional and sexual abuse at the hands of Kilgrave (David Tennant). That season ended with her killing her nemesis, but it has already been revealed that Tennant will be back in season two — though the specifics of Kilgrave’s return are unknown. Hopefully for Jessica’s sake she won’t have to kill him all over again, but in the Marvel universe one can never be too sure.

We interviewed both Ritter and Tennant in 2016 about the first season. Watch those in-depth video chats below.
