‘Jigsaw’ movie trailer: Tobin Bell returns to ‘take back Halloween’ in ‘Saw 8’ [PLAY ME]

Jigsaw may have died 10 years ago, but he’s back and scarier than ever in Lionsgate’s new trailer for “Saw 8,” otherwise known as “Jigsaw.” Watch the “Jigsaw” movie trailer above. Tobin Bell‘s gravely voice is heard throughout the trailer as serial killer John Kramer, aka Jigsaw, who tortures his victims by using their own sins against them. Eagle-eyed viewers can get a sneak peek at Jigsaw in the flesh at the 1:28 mark in the video above. Hmm, is it simply a flashback? Or is Jigsaw really alive after all of this time?

The “Saw” movie franchise is a money-making machine for production companies Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures. The first seven films, released consecutively between 2004 and 2010, helped make “torture porn” into the commercial success that it is today. The franchise has amassed over $415 million so far at the domestic box office, a vast sum especially considering that the films don’t cost much to make. “Saw” (2004), for example, made $55 million from a budget of only $1.2 million.

“Jigsaw” will be released October 27, 2017, just in time to “take back Halloween” as is hinted in the movie trailer. Besides Bell, the film also stars Mandela Van Peebles, Laura Vandervoort, Brittany Allen, Callum Keith Rennie, Cle Bennett and Matt Passmore. The Spierig Brothers directed “Saw 8” from a script written by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, based on the characters and story created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
