Maggie Siff (‘Billions’) chats dividing her loyalties between Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis [EXCLUSIVE VIDEO]

“Whenever you sign onto these television shows, you just sort of pray that you love working with everybody, and that the writers are generous and collaborative, and we’re just really lucky,” divulges “Billions” star Maggie Siff during our recent webcam chat (watch the exclusive video above). “The stories we tell and the characters we play are pretty much across the board really fun.” This Showtime series centers on Bobby Axelrod (Damian Lewis), a hedge-fund king whose dirty dealings catch the attention of U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti). Siff plays Chuck’s wife, Wendy Rhoades, a psychiatrist who works for Axelrod’s company.

“She has deep and profound psychological insight into people,” reveals Siff about her character, “in particular into each of these men.” Wendy divides her loyalties between these two warring titans because, “she clearly relishes the masculine, or male, ego-structure. There is something about it that she fundamentally understands, has empathy for, gets a kick out of.” Ultimately, she, “enjoys helping each of them become sort of the biggest, best version of themselves.”

Siff is a TV vet who competed at the SAG Awards as part of the ensemble for “Mad Men” in 2008. She has twice contended at the Critics Choice Awards as Best Drama Supporting Actress for “Sons of Anarchy” (2012 and 2014). Can she receive her first Emmy nomination?
