Now that Mario Lopez and Sheryl Underwood have been tapped to host the 2017 Daytime Emmy Awards on Sunday, April 30, it’s time to vote in our poll below with how you think they’ll do as first-time emcees. Will they be fantastic, just meh, or downright terrible? The dynamic duo will preside over the 44th annual edition of these kudos, which will be held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Burbank, California.
Lopez and Underwood are both already experts at hosting, as he’s the ringleader of the Emmy-winning entertainment news show “Extra” and she’s one of the five celebs on Emmy champ “The Talk.” Underwood is a nominee this year as part of “The Talk” ensemble for Best Entertainment Talk Show Host, while Lopez’s show “Extra” is up for Best Entertainment News Program.
Interestingly enough, there was no host for last year’s ceremony, which was streamed online. Tyra Banks hosted the 2015 kudos and Kathy Griffin emceed the 2014 edition. How will Lopez and Underwood stack up against the glamour of Banks and the raunchiness of Griffin? And what network or streaming service will the show end up on this year? Give us your best theories below in the comments section.
