Miranda Lambert may have lost her two races at Wednesday’s CMT Awards for her hit song “Vice” but she was a winner when she took to the stage of the Music City Center to perform her new single “Pink Sunglasses.” Lambert had the audience in the Music City Center playing along, with lots of famous folks donning neon pink shades. Watch her rollicking performance above.
“Pink Sunglasses,” which was written by Rodney Clawson, Luke Dick and Natalie Hemby, is a upbeat tune about a woman who decides to look through life through these colored glasses. This is the latest track from her No. 1 album “The Weight of These Wings.” The double disc dropped last November and earned some of the best reviews of the year.
While Lambert may have walked away empty-handed from this year’s CMT Awards, she has seven of these already lining her crowded mantle. Among these was one she shared with Carrie Underwood in 2015 for their collaboration on “Somethin’ Bad.” Underwood was the belle of this year’s CMT Awards, extending her record wins to 17 with victories for Female Video (“Church Bells”) and her collaboration with Keith Urban on “The Fighter.”
