They have assembled an award-winning cast for the female-driven remake of the “Ocean’s” heist franchise, but they didn’t settle on just one award. Their crew includes Oscar nominee Helena Bonham Carter, Emmy winner Sarah Paulson, Emmy nominee Mindy Kaling, Grammy champ Rihanna, and musician Awkwafina. Tony winner James Corden also makes an appearance; it’s unclear from the trailer what his role in the heist will be, if any, but given the success of “Carpool Karaoke,” might I suggest getaway driver?
The original “Ocean’s 11” heist film was released in 1960 and stared Frank Sinatra and other members of the Rat Pack including Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. Then in 2001 Oscar winning director Steven Soderbergh took a crack at it with stars George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Don Cheadle, among other A-list names.
