Best Picture Oscar predictions by experts: ‘Dunkirk’ widens lead over ‘The Post’

An even dozen of our 25 Oscar experts derived from major media outlets are predicting that “Dunkirk” will win Best Picture this year. Another six are backing “The Post” while two favor “The Shape of Water.” “Call Me By Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “The Florida Project,” “Mudbound” and “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” each have one vote.

“Mudbound” debuted at Sundance; “Dunkirk” was a huge hit this summer; “Call Me By Your Name,” “Darkest Hour,” “The Florida Project,” “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and “The Shape of Water” wowed festival crowds; and “The Post” has yet to screen.
