Admit it: you love Sam Heughan. It’s okay, because we do, too! It’s been over a year since “Outlander” fans have had a dose of Heughan’s Jamie Fraser. Before you take to the streets screaming in anticipation of Season 3, click through our photo gallery above of the 15 reasons you secretly (or not so secretly) love Sam Hueghan.
Here’s hoping a late start to Season 3, which debuts September 10 on Starz, gives us what we really want for Heughan: awards attention. For inexplicable reasons, he has yet to receive a nomination at the Golden Globes despite his co-stars Caitiriona Balfe and Tobias Menzies (2016) both being recognized. The show will be fresh in the Hollywood Foreign Press Associations’ mind come time for nominations.
The September premiere could also potentially help at the SAG Awards, where “Outlander” has been completely ignored. This includes the head-scratching omission from Best TV Stunts, considering there were several battles in its second season. But if these photos from season 3 are any indication, the show could earn its first SAG Award nomination.
A late start will also help at the Critics’ Choice Awards where “Outlander” has always performed the best. For the first season of “Outlander” the show was nominated for Most Exciting New Series in 2014. And for the second season the series won Most Bingeworthy Show and was also nominated for its lead stars Heughan and Balfe.
