In “The Bakra,” the 12th episode of season three of the Starz hit drama “Outlander,” the Artemis finally reaches Jamaica bringing Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) that much closer to their goal. During a lavish ball on the island, the Frasers encounter old ally Lord John Grey (David Berry), as well as former adversary Geillis Duncan (Lotte Verbeek), who threatens to derail their mission. The episode was written by Luke Schelhaas and directed by Charlotte Brändström.
In our ongoing video series, “Outlander” fan Rob Licuria is joined by Amanda Spears to dish the highs and lows of this chapter of the fantasy romance saga. This season is based on “Voyager,” Diana Gabaldon’s third novel in the series of books (watch above).
“I felt like I accidentally changed the channel and ended up in a David Fincher show or a vampire movie,” Spears jokes, referring to the scene where Geillis is revealed to be in Jamaica, soaking in a bath of goat’s blood. “My first thought, to be really facetious,” Licuria adds, “was to say finally, some nudity! We just don’t get enough nudity on this show,” he laughs.
“She’s back, and to me that was a welcome return,” Licuria notes. “She’s a good antagonist to have … and there was a lot about this episode I really liked.” See the chat in full by clicking on the video above.
