“Outlander” fans, we’re only seven months away from seeing the next chapter in the love saga of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan). While that may seem like a long time … Oh, who are we kidding? It’s an eternity! To tide you over during this seemingly never-ending “Droughtlander,” take a look at everything we know about “Outlander” Season 3 in our photo gallery above. Warning: there are plenty of spoilers including new character Lord John William Grey (David Berry), rumors of another time jump, and even more Frank (Tobias Menzies).
“Hearts were shattered,” says Gold Derby editor (and “Outlander” super fan) Rob Licuria about last season’s finale “Dragonfly in Amber.” “Not only were our leading lady and leading man ripped apart by time and space, but when the credits rolled, we knew that the wait for Season 3 would be long and torturous.” Luckily for fans everywhere, that “torturous” wait will finally end September 2017.
Season 3 of “Outlander” will be comprised of 13 episodes based on “Voyager,” Diana Gabaldon‘s third novel in the series. The story is set to pick up right after Claire returns to 1948 pregnant with Jamie’s child. Meanwhile, Jamie endures the aftermath of the battle of Culloden, and the two time-separated lovers try to make a life without each other.
