Your wait is almost over, “Outlander” fans: season three of the Starz romantic fantasy series premieres on September 10 after more than a year without new episodes. But how much of the new season will Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) spend apart? Watch the brand new trailer above.
20th century nurse Claire was transported back in time to 18th century Scotland, where she fell in love with Highland warrior Jamie. But at the end of season two she returned to the 20th century for the sake of their unborn child. The new trailer shows her giving birth to their “beautiful” baby girl Brianna, but she struggles with her separation from Jamie while trying to raise their child with her husband Frank (Tobias Menzies), and that longing causes tension. “You couldn’t look at Brianna without seeing him,” Frank accuses her. “I want to know when you’re going to come back from the past.”
But Claire is determined to return to the man she loves even 20 years after she left Jamie behind, and it seems her adult daughter Brianna is eager to see her father as well. “I want to come back,” says Claire. “We will find him,” insists Brianna. But Claire and Jamie don’t have any scenes together in the trailer, so how long will we have to wait for their reunion? And will Jamie finally meet his child?
