‘Project Runway’: Who is the best designer in the top 10? [POLL]

With the elimination of Samantha Rei in the episode “Models Off Duty,” “Project Runway” is down to its top 10 contestants. Our users have been predicting what will happen over the course of the season, but now we want to know what you think should happen. Specifically, which of the remaining designers do you think deserves to win the competition? Vote in our poll at the bottom of this post.

Going into “Models Off Duty,” 24-year-old Brandon Kee was the overwhelming favorite to win with leading odds of 1/2, which translates to a 67% chance of victory, but do you think he’s really the best? He’s certainly a judges’ darling: he’s the only contestant so far to have won two design challenges, and he’s one of only three designers remaining who has never been among the lowest scorers. But his designs aren’t exactly conventional, so he may not be everyone’s cup of tea. I’ll admit it: as a fashion novice, where the judges see bold originality, I’m often just confused.

The other two designers who have avoided the bottom three are Ayana Ife and Michael Brambila, who have both won one challenge apiece. Ife prevailed in week two, “An Unconventional Recycling,” while Brambila was crowned the winner in week four, “We’re Sleeping Wear?” And the “Models Off Duty” challenge was won by Kentaro Kameyama. They’re the only contestants among the top 10 designers who have won challenges, since the winner in week one, Deyonte Weather, had a precipitous fall and was eliminated in “Sleeping Wear.”

Then there’s Kenya Freeman, who is tied with Kee for the most high scores — she’s been among the top designers four times out of six challenges — but she hasn’t won yet. I personally would have given her the victory in “Descending Into Good and Evil,” but the judges’ keep holding out on her. Do you think she has been the best all season?
