‘Project Runway’ winner predictions update: Frontrunner Brandon Kee improves to 4/7 odds in week 10

Episode nine of “Project Runway,” “A Little Avant Garde,” was a bloodbath, with three of the nine designers eliminated — Claire Buitendorp by disqualification in a continuation of the previous week‘s cliffhanger and Amy Bond and Batani-Khalfani in a rare double-elimination later on. Now that there are just six left in the competition, the season is as tough as ever, but you wouldn’t necessarily know it from the top of our winner predictions. Brandon Kee and Kentaro Kameyama are still sitting pretty as season 16 frontrunners.

As of this writing Kee gets leading odds of 4/7, which translates to a 63% chance of winning. That’s a four-week high for Kee, who has been the frontrunner for most of the season, so if anything last week’s triple elimination has crystallized him as the favorite. Kameyama is a distant second with 9/2 odds, or a 19% chance of upsetting, but he’s been holding steady in the runner-up position for the last three weeks.

Margarita Alvarez sits in third place with 10/1 odds, or an 8.9% chance of winning the competition. That’s a four-week low for Alvarez, who was involved in last week’s runway controversy that led to Buitendorp’s ouster. Perhaps that hurt her in our users’ eyes. And that might also have hurt Michael Brambila, who is in fourth place with 22/1 odds (4.3% chance of winning) even though he’s the only designer besides Kee to have won two design challenges. Former frontrunner Kenya Freeman now trails in fifth with 25/1 odds (4.0% chance of winning), which is a nine-week low for her. And Ayana Ife ranks last with 100/1 odds.
