‘Project Runway’: Brandon Kee widens his lead as season 16 frontrunner, according to our predictions

Brandon Kee is running away with the competition on “Project Runway.” In season 16 of the Lifetime fashion series, he has been steadily climbing for the fourth week in a row, and as of this writing he leads with overwhelming odds of 1/2, which translates to a 66% chance of winning the competition. That’s up from last week (4/5 odds, 55% chance of winning), which was up from the week before (21/20 odds, 49% chance of winning). Is he getting close to unbeatable at this point?

Kee won his second design challenge in last week’s episode, “Descending Into Good and Evil,” which makes him the first contestant this season to win multiple challenges. What’s more, he has never been among the bottom three contestants, and there has only been one challenge in which he didn’t finish with one of the highest scores: “We’re Sleeping Wear?,” but even then he managed to advance safely through to the next round.

Holding on to second place in our odds is former frontrunner Kenya Freeman, but just as Kee as been pulling away from the field, Freeman has been steadily losing ground in our predictions. She currently gets 7/1 odds (13% chance of winning). That’s down from last week (13/2 odds, a little over 13% chance of winning), which was down from the week before (5/1 odds, 17% chance of winning). The judges were shocked when Freeman delivered one of the worst looks in the “Sleeping Wear” episode, but she rebounded with one of the best looks in “Descending” — and if you ask me she deserved to win that challenge over Kee.
