Season 9 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” hosted by Emmy winner RuPaul Charles, is set to premiere this Friday, March 24 on VH1 at 8:00 p.m. ET featuring an all new cast of 13 queens vying for the title of “America’s Next Drag Superstar.” Throughout the competition we’re asking you to guess where each queen will place in our season-long predictions event, so hurry and make your predictions.
Based on current odds, our readers think that 22-year-old Aja from Brooklyn, NY is the most likely to win. She tops our winner’s chart with 19/10 odds over Sasha Velour and Shea Coulee, both with 7/2 odds. These are early predictions from our readers and could change after they’ve seen the queens in action in the season premiere.
On the opposite side of things, 26-year-old Jaymes Mansfield from Milwaukee, WI leads the predictions to be eliminated first with 15/8 odds, followed by Peppermint (10/3 odds) and Charlie Hides (8/1 odds). See the complete cast for “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 9.
Season 9 is expected to return to the structure of the competition before last season’s “All-Stars 2” changed things up and had winning queens decide who is eliminated. Like before, most episodes will have the queens compete in one mini-challenge and one main-stage challenge, after which the queens giving the weakest overall performance must lip synch for their lives in order to stay. The loser of the lip synch, as determined by RuPaul and the other judges, will “sashay away” and be eliminated.
Friday’s premiere will feature an appearance by Lady Gaga, who’s serving as the first guest judge of the season. Other celebrities set to grace the queens with their presence include Lisa Kudrow, Cheyenne Jackson, Meghan Trainor, Tori Spelling and Denis O’Hare, as well as many others.
