Last week on “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Peppermint rose to the top of the pack with a top 3 finish in the “Fairytale Princess Eleganza” runway challenge, but this week she may be in danger of going home. Peppermint currently leads in the racetrack for “Who will place 12th?” with 9/2 odds. Do you think Peppermint’s time on the show is growing stale? There’s still time to make your predictions in our weekly event. Keep reading for my analysis of the queens you’re predicting most likely to win and who you think will go home in “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 9, Episode 4, “Good Morning Bitches.”
Peppermint’s top 3 finish in the previous challenge came as a bit of a surprise to predictors that had pegged her as one of the three most likely to go home last week. But once again she’s in danger, this time with the best odds of elimination. In terms of screen time, Peppermint has been in the background while other queens steal the spotlight. This could be a sign that the Peppermint’s time on the show is short and that editors prefer to develop narratives for other competitors.
One of those competitors that has received a decent amount of screen time is Charlie Hides, but she too is in danger with 13/2 odds of being eliminated this week. Charlie was in the bottom 3 two challenges ago, but escaped elimination then without having to lip synch for her life. If it’s not Peppermint or Charlie, the odds are on Alexis Michelle and Trinity Taylor, both of whom have a x/x chance of elimination.
Of course, last week Trinity won the runway challenge so it’d be a surprise if she went home this week. Yet despite that strong performance, Trinity has failed to make it to the top of our predictions for “Who will win?” That chart continues to be led by Aja (7/2 odds), who scored very low with the judges and had to lip synch to remain in the competition last week. Aja has been ruthlessly clocked by both the judges and her peers for her makeup skills so she’ll have to change some minds about that if she’s to win.
The other challengers to the crown are Sasha Velour (4/1 odds) and Valentina (9/2 odds). Valentina has consistently performed well with the judges, finishing in the top 3 last week and being the overall winner of the challenge two weeks ago. Compared to Valentina and Aja, Sasha has seen very little coverage on the show so far, falling in the middle of the pack for two weeks after a top 3 finish in the premiere episode.
