“I had everyone on that new tribe shook. The only ones that were not scared of me were the damn chickens,” jokes “Survivor: Game Changers” castoff Sandra Diaz-Twine after she was eliminated in this week’s episode. She continues, “My game speaks for itself and I don’t really have to argue about why I’m the queen.” This was Sandra’s third time playing the game after winning both “Survivor: Pearl Islands” and “Survivor: Heroes vs. Villains,” making her the show’s only two-time winner.
Listen to our full exit interview above and then make your “Survivor 34” predictions for a chance to top our famous leaderboards. I’m not gonna lie, as a huge fan of Queen Sandra watching her elimination on TV was tough. See our photo below from last season’s reunion show.
Being voted out for the first time “is really not that bad,” Sandra tells me. “I guess because I was prepared and I knew eventually it would happen. I’m not taking it as hard as other people who have just played once and got voted off or even played two, three, four times and still nothing. I’m okay.”
After being responsible for all of this season’s eliminations (save for Caleb Reynolds, who was on the opposing tribe), Sandra explains that the sole reason for her ouster was the tribe switch. “The only thing that screwed me was picking the wrong buff off that plate. Had I gone to Exile Island or had I gone to the Mana tribe with Hali Ford and Troyzan Robertson and Michaela Bradshaw and Aubry Bracco, we wouldn’t be talking right now.”
Also in our “Survivor” podcast, Sandra explains why she didn’t try to work with Tai Trang, what really happened between her and former ally Tony Vlachos, how she deals with all of the haters on social media, and which other former champ is the likeliest to win a second time and tie her record.
