Sara and Hero’s final ‘America’s Got Talent’ performance: Can they become second dog act to win ‘AGT’? [WATCH]

Dog act Sara and Hero performed Tuesday night during the Finals episode of “America’s Got Talent” 2017. As one of the Top 10 “AGT” acts of Season 12, Sara Carson and her rescue dogs Hero and Lucky are the only animal act left in the competition. After their impressive quarantine-themed performance, can they now become the second to win following Olate Dogs in 2012? Watch Sara and Hero’s “America’s Got Talent” recap video above from NBC’s reality TV show.

While three of the four “AGT” judges — Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum and Mel B — jumped to their feet at the conclusion of Sara and Hero’s performance, Howie Mandel did not give a standing ovation. Here is what they had to say:

Cowell: “Oh my gosh, Lucky, are you listening to me? No you’re not. This was honestly incredible. It was, if these were humans this would be an amazing act. It was stunning, it was like magic, it was dog tricks. I was actually speechless at the end, by the way, because the dog flew. Look, I can’t even get my dogs to sit, and they’re four years old. So what you did, honestly both of you, all of you, amazing, incredible. I wish you the best of luck.”

Mel B: “Well first of all, Sara, I wanna say you look absolutely gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, you do. Look at you, yes! That was so fast and furious it was really kind of exciting. I mean, it wasn’t perfect but I thoroughly, thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it. It was exciting. Very exciting.”

Klum: “Well I have to applaud you again for getting your dogs to do what they’re doing because yours [Simon’s] doesn’t sit, mine can’t even roll over. They do sit. But it’s true! And you know, I know that he’s called Hero but I think that you’re really the hero because you rescue all these dogs, you train them, okay, to make a better life for the dogs and for you. So here’s to $1 million! Good luck to you!”

Mandel: “You know, this is the epitome of “America’s Got Talent.” Where else can you see a dog act that’s so much fun and even with some of the mistakes, it made it even more exciting. And I’ve never seen a dog launched in the air, but you know what, tonight, more than any other night, only one person can win. Only one act can win. So it’s up to America. You’ve gotta vote. Usually there’s five left. Only one.”
