“Saturday Night Live” announced that Harry Styles will be the musical guest on the April 15 show hosted by Jimmy Fallon. That means Fallon will once again have to face a celebrity he’s impersonated on the late-night sketch comedy. Will he break out his Styles impression again when the former One Direction singer comes on the show? Watch Fallon’s brief portrayal of Stiles in a 2013 Christmas music sketch below.
Fallon has portrayed a number of celebrities who have appeared on the show before. In 2001 he played the literal mirror image of Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger. And he performed a similar sketch in 2015 opposite Donald Trump when the future leader of the free world hosted the show early in his presidential campaign — Trump was presumably a bigger fan of “SNL” back then.
Fallon was a regular cast member on “Saturday Night Live” from 1998 to 2004. He eventually took over as host of “Late Night” in 2009 and was promoted to “The Tonight Show” in 2014, where he has been ever since. He has returned to “SNL” twice before as host, in 2011 and 2013, winning Emmys for Best Comedy Guest Actor both times.
Styles became internationally famous thanks to One Direction, but the band went on hiatus and now he’s the latest member releasing music on his own. In advance of his “SNL” performance he’ll be releasing his solo debut single on April 7. Maybe he could sing it with Fallon. Or if nothing else he should be wary of mirrors.
