‘So You Think You Can Dance’ cliffhanger: Allison Holker on her ‘devastating’ injury and whether she’ll return

Allison Holker is one of this season’s “So You Think You Can Dance” all-stars, mentoring her contestants throughout the competition until Monday night, when she revealed that Logan Hernandez would be her representative in the top 10. All the all-stars danced with their top-10 finalists in the first live show, but Hernandez had to take the stage with substitute Audrey Case because Holker had shockingly been sidelined by a shoulder injury she sustained during rehearsals. Now she has made a statement about her status on the show.

“I’m devastated about my injury – but more so for my partner Logan than myself,” says Holker. ” I was so sad to not be able to dance with him [Monday] night, but he made me so proud by performing absolutely beautifully.  I will continue to mentor Logan in such a way so that the audience can see all the positive, beautiful qualities I see in him – and I am working hard with my doctors to get back to the stage as soon as I am medically cleared.  Thanks for all your continued support and love.”

Holker originally competed on “SYTYCD” in season two, when she finished in the top eight. But since then she has appeared multiple times as an all-star on the show, and she also crossed over to “Dancing with the Stars” where she has competed as a pro dancer four times, peaking in season 20 when she and her celeb partner Riker Lynch finished second.

Injuries have been known to happen on athletically demanding dance competitions like “SYTYCD” and “DWTS.” Sometimes they’re a minor setback, but other times they’re a major hurdle, so we’re wishing Holker a speedy road to recovery.

In the meantime, you can make your predictions now for who will win “SYTYCD” this season and who, if anyone, will be eliminated next Monday night. Also, vote below to let us know who you think should win.
