‘So You Think You Can Dance’ finale predictions: Lex Ishimoto gets leading odds of 1/2 to win season 14

So You Think You Can Dance” season 14 is down to its last episode, and Lex Ishimoto is the frontrunner to win, as he has been since the start of the live shows in August. As of this writing he gets leading odds of 1/2, which translates to a 68% chance of prevailing. Do you agree with our forecast? You can keep making or updating your predictions right here until tonight’s show starts.

Ishimoto has been one of the judges’ favorites all season, performing what they have considered some of the show’s all-time best routines. He’s been an audience favorite too. Throughout the live shows he never finished among the bottom three based on viewer votes. And not only has he had the lead throughout the season, his odds have actually improved throughout the competition. For the finale alone he has climbed significantly from last week’s Top 4 episode when he had 4/5 odds (56% chance of winning).

Ishimoto’s closest competitor is Kiki Nyemchek with 5/1 odds, or a 17% chance of winning. That’s his strongest showing yet in our odds, way up from last week when he ranked last with 14/1 odds (7% chance of winning). He stands out from the rest of the field in that he’s the only ballroom specialist in the Top 4, though he did finish in the bottom three once before, so he hasn’t always had the support of the audience.

Taylor Sieve, like Ishimoto, never spent a week in the bottom three, so we know she’s also popular, but she ranks third in our predictions with 9/1 odds (9.9% chance of winning) — ironically, though, she’s actually predicted to finish second when we asked our readers exactly how each contestant would place. Rounding out our predictions is Koine Iwasaki with 20/1 odds (4.9% chance of winning).
