“This might just be your new favorite number coming your way,” said “So You Think You Can Dance” host Cat Deeley when introducing contestant Taylor Sieve and her all-star partner Robert Roldan‘s contemporary dance on Monday night when the Top 7 performed. “Every week Taylor has been shedding a layer, and you’re getting to know her a little bit more,” said Emmy nominated choreographer Mandy Moore. “This week we’re getting into that vulnerability. I want to see her dive into that and make people feel beauty and love.” And it seems Sieve succeeded: judge Mary Murphy could barely deliver her critique without crying. Watch the performance above, and vote in our poll below to let us know if you thought it was the best of the evening.
“Luck had nothing to do with it tonight,” said Murphy. “Everything you have worked so hard for in your career, the choices of who you’ve chosen to train with have led you to the moment right now. It is astounding, ethereal, so light all the time. The technique is so beautiful. I feel like you reached inside my soul.” Vanessa Hudgens added, “That was just so gorgeous. You have so much strength, it’s never frigid … It was so graceful, and you looked like a butterfly.” And Nigel Lythgoe concluded, “That is the beauty of dance: you can touch someone like that with movement … You danced it brilliantly.”
