‘So You Think You Can Dance’: Taylor Sieve’s ‘animalistic’ hip-hop routine from ‘World of Dance’ alums [WATCH]

World of Dance” fans would have recognized a pair of choreographers featured in this week’s Top 6 episode of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Husband-and-wife duo Keone Madrid and Mari Madrid created a hip-hop routine for contestant Taylor Sieve and her all-star partner Robert Roldan. And it was a big hit with the judges. Watch it above, and vote in our poll at the bottom of this post to let us know if you think it was the best all-star duet of the evening.

“Keone and Mari are kind of my idols,” said Roldan about the prospect of working with the pair, who have choreographed routines for the show in the past. Keone explained, “This piece is about divide and conflict between two creatures.” He wanted “animalistic” movements from Sieve and Roldan, and Mari noted how difficult the routine would be because of the specificity of movements required by the dancers. But they delivered just what the choreographers were looking for, resulting in a standing ovation from the panel of judges.

Nigel Lythgoe told them, “You nailed it tonight. It was fabulous.” Vanessa Hudgens added, “Taylor, that was honestly one of my favorite routines I’ve seen you do. The amount of confidence and intensity and primal, animalistic vibes you had going on — it was so captivating.” And Mary Murphy concluded, “I loved it. You guys were so strong and so articulate in the movements … Taylor, you are a star.”
