Tonight’s two-hour episode of “Survivor: Game Changers,” titled “There’s a New Sheriff in Town,” reveals that the long-awaited merge will finally arrive to shake up the game. Who might benefit from the two tribes merging into one, and which two castaways will be eliminated after the shakeup? Watch CBS’s preview trailer above for Season 34, Episode 8 and then update your “Survivor 34” predictions in our weekly event.
“Before we merge, you have one decision to make,” teases four-time Emmy-winning host Jeff Probst. Since there is an odd number of players (13), does Probst make the tribe choose one person to send to Exile Island? The last time that happened, Debbie Wanner ended up benefiting greatly by getting food, comfort, advice from former champ John Cochran, and a secret advantage in the form of a second vote to use at tribal council.
Fans will be eagerly watching this new episodes to see how Zeke Smith deals with last week’s shocking tribal council in which ousted castaway Jeff Varner outed Zeke for being transgender. Zeke is seen briefly in the 20-second promo remarking, “It’s the smiles before the bloodbath.” Perhaps he’s referring to the ritual picnic that occurs each season as the two tribes get to know each other at the merge feast.
Debbie closes out the video with a perfectly mysterious quote: “If you think our camp is not going to be pandemonium, you’re a fool.” Unfortunately for Debbie, her Nuku tribe is heading into the merge at a numbers disadvantage, as they have six people compared to the seven people at Mana. Thus, Gold Derby’s racetrack odds predict that two Nuku members — Debbie and Ozzy Lusth — will be eliminated in the back-to-back episodes.
