“Survivor: Game Changers” fans have spoken, and they want Malcolm Freberg to return to the show. In our poll last week that asked which of the five eliminated castaways fans most want to return, Malcolm earns a whopping 58% of the vote. Do you agree that Malcolm deserves a second chance and should be sent back to the island? Sound off in the comments section below, and then update your “Survivor 34” predictions in our weekly event.
Malcolm was eliminated in 17th place this season, his worst performance after finishing fourth in “Survivor: Philippines” and ninth in “Survivor: Caramoan.” When we informed Malcolm that fans were protesting the show after his ouster two weeks ago, he responded, “Please keep watching the show! If you stop watching, they’re not gonna keep making it. And if they stop making it, I can never come back and win. So everybody needs to change their minds about that, really quickly.”
Following Malcolm in our poll asking which of the first five castoffs should return to Season 34, Tony Vlachos comes in second place with 15% of the vote. Ciera Eastin is the third-place pick with 11% support from fans, followed by Caleb Reynolds in fourth with 9%, and then the most recent eliminee J.T. Thomas in fifth with 7%.
Perhaps fans are so upset with Malcolm’s ouster because of the shocking way in which it happened. After the Mana and Nuku tribes went to tribal council with the task of eliminating one person, J.T. whispered in Brad Culpepper’s ear that Sierra Thomas was the target, so Tai Trang used his hidden immunity idol to save Sierra. That negated all six of the votes cast against Sierra, thereby sending home Malcolm in a jawdropper of a twist.
