On Thursday, March 30, AMC announced the initial guest lineup for “Talking with Chris Hardwick”: Michelle Monaghan, Charlie Hunnam, Connie Britton, Justin Theroux, Bryan Cranston, Elijah Wood, Damon Lindelof, Neil deGrasse Tyson and the cast of “Silicon Valley.”
“Talking” extends the format of the network’s hit post-show “Talking Dead,” which follows episodes of “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead” every week and has become TV’s top-rated talk show. But it will also take inspiration from Chris Hardwick‘s “Nerdist” podcast by going in-depth with one guest in each episode instead of inviting on two or three stars every night like most talk shows currently on the air. And like “Talking Dead” and Hardwick’s comedy game show “@Midnight,” this new talk show will have audience interaction and a social media component.
“Talking with Chris Hardwick” premieres on Sunday, April 9, at 11:00pm, and it will continue to run on Sunday nights until “The Walking Dead” or “Fear the Walking Dead” is back on the air, at which point “Talking Dead” will resume as usual. Last year “Talking Dead” earned an Emmy nomination for Best Interactive Program. Hardwick is also a two-time Emmy winner for Best Creative Achievement in Interactive Media for “@Midnight.” Will Hardwick’s latest venture bring him more awards success?
