“I don’t need your time,” President “Donald Trump” protested when he appeared on “The Daily Show with Trevor Noah” on April 25 (watch above). “I have my own show, and it’s a huge hit, tremendous ratings, and it starts this Thursday right here on the failing Comedy Central. Travis, you’ve made a terrible mess here and I alone can fix it.”
The “president” — really Trump impersonator Anthony Atamanuik — appeared to promote his new late night talk show, “The President Show,” which debuts on April 27 at 11:30pm, immediately following “The Daily Show.” But before that Trump pushed back on Trevor Noah for challenging some of his goals, including his infamous proposal to build a wall along the southern border of the United States and somehow make Mexico pay for it. “You’re really nasty to me,” said Trump. “You’re totally unfair — and I’m a nice guy. I’m one of the best guys, I’m the nicest. I’m nicely on top of bigly in an angel food cake. This isn’t just a show, it’s fake news!”
Actually, this time Trump was finally right. As Noah pointed out, “The Daily Show” is a comedy program, but when Noah asked him how he would get Mexico to pay for the wall, Trump answered, “It’s not complicated at all. This is easy stuff, folks. We can tax them. They don’t have to pay with money … little adobe huts — I don’t know, we’ll figure something out.”
