‘The Voice’ blind auditions: Sophia Bollman (‘Invincible’) says Blake Shelton ‘would be a cool dad’ [WATCH]

During Night 4 of “The Voice” Season 13, Sophia Bollman belted out Kelly Clarkson‘s “Invincible” and was almost out of the competition until coaches Blake Shelton and Miley Cyrus pushed their buttons at the last second. When decision time came, it was no surprise to see Bollman join Team Miley, especially after she said that Cyrus was one of her musical inspirations. “Blake would be a cool dad,” Bollman joked as a way of letting him down. “I just want you to know that you have an incredible pop, soulful voice,” praised Shelton. “I was sittin’ here going, I know this isn’t my lane, but I have worked with artists like you before and I’ve had a lot of success with him. You deserve to be in this competition so I hit my freaking button because I think I can be a good coach for you, Sophia.”

Cyrus was more critical during her deliberation, telling Bollman, “You definitely had some moments that weren’t as strong, but I know you have a huge range. You’ve got so much freedom with your voice because you’ve got enough experience. You’re not super, super young where the nerves get the best of you. I think you could go a [long way] on this show and I’d like to be a part of it.”

Bollman is 18 years old and currently resides in Norco, California. Here is her official NBC bio: “A recent high school graduate, Sophia grew up with a single mom who supported her and encouraged her to come to The Voice. At 13, Sophia got involved with the non-profit organization Kids Rock Free and was quickly placed in two different rock cover bands. Her main band, No Surrender, was an eight-piece band made up of kids ages 12-17. They performed about six times a month at local events and had the chance to perform for KISS stars Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley at their restaurant, Rock & Brews, in 2016. Now, she is ready to take the next step toward being a solo artist.”
