‘The Voice’ poll: Was the right artist stolen on Tuesday’s knockout round?

This week “The Voice” moved on to the Knockout rounds, the final pre-taped stage of the competition that will cull the 32 remaining artists down to 20 for the live shows. The four coaches — Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani — no longer pick the songs that their artists perform in match-ups against each other. However, they do get to declare a winner of the sing-off and each can steal one of the rejects of the other three.

On Monday’s episode, Levine and Stefani did just that when they plucked up Lilli Passero and Quizz Swanigan respectively (vote for which was the better choice of those two here.) Those moves meant that only Keys and Shelton could steal an artist on Tuesday’s episode. As each of them was presenting one of the three knockout match-ups, this meant that they had just two chances apiece.

Neither took up the other’s also-ran. Keys dropped Dawson Coyle from her team after his performance of “Demons,” a 2013 hit for the rock band Imagine Dragons. Likewise, Shelton nixed Enid Ortiz following her soulful rendering of Adele‘s No. 1 tune “When We Were Young.”

Shelton chose to use his steal on Stefani’s cast-off Aaliyah Rose, who rocked the house with her rendition of Meghan Trainor‘s 2015 top 10 hit “Like I’m Gonna Lose You.” Was this the right choice for him over Coyle after Keys rejected him? Should Keys have made a case for Rose too or gone with Ortiz once Shelton bounced her?
