‘The Voice’ knockouts: Chloe Kohanski performs ‘Landslide’ by Stevie Nicks for Team Miley Cyrus [WATCH]

Chloe Kohanski did exactly what she needed to do for Monday’s episode of “The Voice,” and she still almost went home. She was in the first night of knockout rounds for Season 13 for Team Miley Cyrus and performed the Stevie Nicks standout song “Landslide” (watch the video above). Unfortunately her coach chose competitor Ashland Craft for the playoffs later in November, but then rivals Blake Shelton and Jennifer Hudson jumped in to compete for a steal. She chose to join Team Blake and will be moving on after all.

Gold Derby is now offering live blog coverage for each episode, including all of the battle rounds on Monday, October 16, Tuesday, October 17, Monday, October 23, and Tuesday, October 24.

Our contributing writer Denton Davidson had the following commentary in his power rankings for Monday: “Chloe completely immersed herself within this song and the emotion was able to transcend through the television. This was a breakout performance for Chloe, who actually lost this knockout and was stolen by Blake. Even though Miley didn’t keep her, Chloe’s performance was still my favorite of the night.”

According to the NBC official bio for Chloe: “Miley was one of Chloe’s musical inspirations growing up. She has always wanted to be a singer but after graduation, she decided to go to college to be an English teacher. Soon after, she realized that wasn’t for her, so she quit school and started playing in a blues band. Her decision to pursue music wasn’t exactly what her parents hoped for, as they have always been concerned that the music industry can be unpredictable. While they always want what’s best for Chloe, they are still supportive of her singing. ‘The Voice’ is Chloe’s chance to make her parents proud and get validation of her musical talent.”
