‘The Voice’ knockouts: Karli Webster takes on ‘Blue Bayou’ by Linda Ronstadt for Team Miley Cyrus [WATCH]

Well, somehow it’s all over for Karli Webster despite a near perfect performance on Monday’s episode of “The Voice.” She was taking on the more subdued tune “Blue Bayou” by Linda Ronstadt (watch the video above) against the much more over-the-top Janice Freeman during Season 13 for Team Miley Cyrus. No coach saved her with a steal for this knockout round, so her journey has now concluded this time around.

Gold Derby is now offering live blog coverage for each episode, including all of the battle rounds on Monday, October 16, Tuesday, October 17, Monday, October 23, and Tuesday, October 24.

Our contributing writer Denton Davidson had the following commentary in his power rankings for Monday: “Karli’s elimination tonight was one of the most surprising. Her nearly pitch-perfect performance of this Linda Ronstadt classic just wasn’t big enough as she faced off against her teammate, Janice. She has a beautiful tone and it is a shame we won’t get to hear more from her.”

According to the NBC official bio for Karli: “When Karli was only three years old, her father put her in piano lessons and over the years she became an accomplished pianist, winning eight state-level competitions. Karli’s mom raised her on ’70s music, including Carly Simon and Stevie Nicks, which helped inspire the musician Karli is today. After high school, Karli wanted to pursue music full time, so she decided to apply to the University of Southern California. After submitting a video reel and being tested on music theory, Karli was granted a full scholarship to the prestigious Thornton School of Music, where she takes music theory classes as well as regular college courses. As much as she loves the diverse set of music classes, she is ready to learn from the best coaches in the business.”
