‘The Voice’ playoffs: Noah Mac moves into Top 12 live show performing ‘In the Air Tonight’ for Team Jennifer Hudson [WATCH]

Contender Noah Mac is moving into the live shows for “The Voice” next Monday. He joined the Top 12 as all of Team Jennifer Hudson performed this Monday after his self-arranged performance of the Phil Collins classic 1980s hit song “In the Air Tonight” (watch the video above). Will this teen sensation have what it takes to win the Season 13 championship in December?

We’ve been live blogging every episode of this season, including all the knockout rounds on Monday, October 30, Monday, November 6 , and Tuesday, November 7. Our contributing writer Denton Davidson posted the following in his live blog about the first playoff round on Monday, November 13: “I love how low his register is, it’s unlike any male pop star on the radio today. His interpretation is haunting, but he’s dressed like he’s about to referee a basketball game, which is distracting. Once he got to the chorus, Noah let loose and it is clear his confidence is growing. Miley Cyrus could be overheard saying, ‘he is so hot.’ He could really be a dark horse in the competition. This was a great performance from the youngster.”

Mac is 17 years old and currently resides in Dublin, California. Here’s the official NBC bio: “Noah spends most of his time writing and recording music in a studio he built himself in his family’s backyard shed. He got his start in music in the most heartbreaking way – when Noah was seven years old, his 19-year-old sister, Stevie, lost her fight with brain cancer. His sister was his biggest inspiration. Despite his sadness, he decided to sing at her funeral. His performance shocked everyone, including his parents, who had no idea he had a voice. Noah recently produced and released an EP.”
