“There is no coming back from this, Eugene!” say 34% of “The Walking Dead” fans who feel betrayed by the scientist’s decision to officially join The Saviors in this week’s episode. These morbid fans believe that Eugene’s punishment for betraying Alexandria should be death. Do you agree? Be sure to sound off in the comments section below.
When Eugene (Josh McDermitt) was in the midst of being saved by Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) in “The Other Side,” he shouted at them, “I didn’t tell you to come, so go.” He than ran back into Negan’s (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) factory, as Sasha and Rosita looked on in shock.
But it’s not all bad news for Eugene. The plurality of fans (37%) who voted in our poll believe that, “There’s still a chance he’s on the good side.” Is it possible that Eugene has concocted a masterful plan to take down Negan and the Saviors, and that he’s simply keeping it secret from his former friends?
Rounding out the poll, 29% of fans voted that, “I’ll need to see more episodes to decide.” Since there are only two episodes left — “Something They Need” on March 26 and “The First Day of the Rest of Your Life” on April 2 — time is running out for Eugene’s true motives to be revealed in Season 7.
What do you think, “The Walking Dead” fans? Should Eugene’s punishment be death, or is there still a chance for redemption? After voting in our Eugene poll, be sure to sound off about the current season in the comments section below and in our fun TV forums.
