‘The Walking Dead’ poll results: 61% say Maggie is being wasted in Season 7 — Bring her back!

A whopping 61% of “The Walking Dead” fans believe that Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is being wasted in Season 7. This vocal majority misses seeing her being a badass each week and wants the show to bring her back, stat. While it’s true Maggie has only popped up in four of the 13 episodes so far this season, we should expect to see her next week in the Hilltop-centric hour. Maggie has safely resided in that community since the death of her husband Glenn (Steven Yeun).

Amazingly, 25% of poll respondents say that Maggie is not being wasted on the show. They think that her four appearances can be explained away by the fact that her character is pregnant. While that’s a fair assumption, it’s important to remember that Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) still got plenty airtime in the second and third seasons after her character was revealed to be pregnant.

Rounding out the poll results, the other 14% of fans voted that they don’t care either way about Maggie’s low episode count. Chalk up this group to being “The Walking Dead” hate-watchers, which have always plagued the show. But whether or not you’re a fan of the AMC zombie drama, it’s hard to ignore the talent that Cohan brings to the role of Maggie … when she actually appears, that is.

The last we saw of Maggie was in the mid-season premiere episode, titled “Rock in the Road.” She was with Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group of people in Gregory’s (Xander Berkeley) office at the Hilltop trying to convince them to fight against the Saviors. Gregory fired back that they owe him for not killing the Saviors as they promised they would, and for allowing Maggie and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) a safe place to stay.
