In our poll last week asking which of the Best Villain nominees at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards is your favorite, a whopping 75% voted for Jeffrey Dean Morgan‘s Negan (“The Walking Dead”). In epic Negan fashion, the baseball bat-wielding baddie completely bashed in the competition, with his closest competitor being Jared Leto‘s The Joker from “Suicide Squad” with a paltry 8%. See how all of the contenders fared in our poll below and then sound off down in the comments section.
While the MTV Movie Awards have been handed out since 1992, this year they branched out to include television for the first time. In many categories, that means TV and film contenders face off against each other, as they do in the Best Villain race. Adam Devine is set to host the awards on May 7 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
Following Negan and the Joker, 7% of fans voted that Mark Steger‘s Demogorgon from “Stranger Things” is their favorite villain from the past year. And then there was a three-way tie at 3% between Wes Bentley‘s Ambrose White (“American Horror Story: Roanoke”), Allison Williams‘ Rose Armitage (“Get Out”) and the “someone else” option.
Will our readers’ pick Negan prevail at the MTV Movie & TV Awards? The breakout “Walking Dead” villain certainly seems to be the favorite, especially when you consider Morgan is also nominated for Best Actor in a Show opposite Donald Glover (“Atlanta”), Emilia Clarke (“Game of Thrones”), Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin”), Mandy Moore (“This Is Us”) and Millie Bobby Brown (“Stranger Things”).
