After last week’s episode of “The Walking Dead” centered on the Sanctuary, this Sunday’s instalment sees the action shift back to the survivors. From the teaser trailer for “Say Yes,” we knew that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira) would try to turn their scavenging mission into a romantic interlude.
Now, we have learned that the episode will also show us the result of Rosita (Christian Serratos) being frustrated at the slow speed of Rick’s efforts to lead them. Refusing to kowtow to Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan ), her erratic behavior has already led to the death of Olivia (Ann Mahoney).
At this stage, she is determined to head off on her own search-and-destroy mission. Tara (Alanna Masterson) tries to tell Rosita that Rick is to be trusted and that his plan to amass an arsenal makes the most sense. However, she is harboring a secret, having discovered a group of women survivors known as Oceanside. Should she reveal that they have weapons which could be used against the Saviors?
“Say Yes” was scripted by executive producer Greg Nicotero. He also wrote the seventh season opener, “”The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be” as well as its follow-up, “The Well” and episode #9, “The Rock in the Road.” The meaning behind its title is vague but we should have a better understanding after it airs on Sunday night.
