USA Network ships ‘Mr. Robot’ Emmy FYC mailer that includes entire second season on 3 DVDs

No, this isn’t a dream. Season 2 of USA Network’s Emmy-winning drama “Mr. Robot” has been shipped to the entire TV academy membership of 20,000. TV’s reigning Emmy champ for Best Drama Actor (Rami Malek) and Best Music Composition (Mac Quayle) was nominated for Best Drama Series last year, and now the second season is arriving at voters’ doorsteps. The sleek FYC Emmy mailer also includes a booklet of cast images and a link for voters to watch the episodes online at the USA screening room.

All 12 episodes from Season 2 are spread across three DVDs. The clever episode titles are: “eps2.0_unm4sk-pt1.tc,” “eps2.0_unm4sk-pt2.tc,” “eps2.1_k3rnel-pan1c.ksd,” “eps2.2_init_1.asec,” “eps2.3_logic-b0mb.hc,” “eps2.4_m4ster-s1ave.aes,” “eps2.5_h4ndshake.sme,” “eps2.6_succ3ss0r.p12,” “eps2.7_init_5.fve,” “eps2.8_h1dden-pr0cess.axx,” “eps2.9_pyth0n-pt1.p7z” and “eps2.9_pyth0n-pt2.p7z.”

Malek, who plays the deeply troubled vigilante hacker Elliot Alderson, graces the front cover of the Emmy mailer, while co-star Christian Slater‘s titular Mr. Robot is on the back. The phrase “Control is an Illusion” appears above both of their heads. Should Malek take home another trophy as Best Drama Actor, he will be only the ninth person in Emmy history to claim back-to-back kudos. Slater is looking for his first career Emmy nomination following his victory last year at the Golden Globes for his mysterious role.

Other supporting performers featured within the glossy booklet are Carly Chaikin as Darlene, Portia Doubleday as Angela Moss, Grace Gummer as Dominique DiPierro and Stephanie Corneliussen as Joanna Wellick. Creator/producer Sam Esmail is being campaigned for Best Drama Writing and Best Drama Directing; last year he received noms for producing the show as well as for writing the pilot episode.

In the technical races USA is once again pushing Quayle for Best Music Composition, and here are the other categories “Mr. Robot” hopes to compete in: Best Single-Camera Cinematography, Best Single-Camera Picture Editing, Best Drama Casting, Best One-Hour Sound Mixing, Best Series Sound Editing and Best Contemporary/Fantasy Production Design.
