TEAM ADAM LEVINE

Adam Cunningham is 38 years old and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Adam, a session singer in Nashville, grew up singing at churches with his mom and dad before releasing a few Christian albums as a young adult. Things were starting to look good until 2011 when his career went on the fritz as he and his first wife divorced. Adam put music on hold until 2013 when he met his current wife, Courtney. She brought light into Adam’s life and he started writing songs again. A year ago, Adam and Courtney welcomed a baby girl into their family. Now, more than ever, Adam wants to make a successful career singing his music.

Jon Mero is 31 years old and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. As a kid, Jon grew up playing the piano and trumpet. At 14, he saw Whitney Houston sing in the movie “The Preacher’s Wife” and decided that singing is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. At 25, Jon moved from Des Moines to Atlanta in hopes of finding more musical opportunities. When Jon arrived in Atlanta, he got the chance to perform with CeeLo Green, which furthered his motivation and passion. Currently, Jon works as a corporate singer in the Celebrity All-Star Band. He gigs with the band at parties and corporate events, which has helped him develop his singing and performing skills. He finally feels ready to take the stage by himself and is hoping The Voice will catapult his solo career.

Addison Agen is 16 years old and currently resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Addison had never been on a plane before flying out to audition for The Voice. Raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Addison started singing when she was only four years old. When she was nine, her father bought a record store that gave Addison the opportunity to explore many different genres and musical influences. She began songwriting when she was 11, and recently, her father built a stage inside the shop so she could perform. Addison’s mother has several jobs, including being a musical therapist at nursing homes. Addison loves to help her mom by singing at the nursing homes and getting the residents excited about music.

TEAM BLAKE SHELTON

Red Marlow is 40 years old and currently resides in Dickson, Tennessee. Red is as country as it gets, with a love of skeet shooting, fishing and hunting. His dad is a preacher, so growing up he was exposed to a lot of bluegrass and gospel. At 22, Red decided to move to Nashville to further his music career and ended up becoming a demo singer. He was fortunate to make a living singing songs for songwriters for about 15 years, but being a musician is difficult and he’s struggled to break through as a solo artist. Recently, Red took a step back from music in order to support his family. He started his own construction company called Mr. Fix All, and though he enjoys it, The Voice has given him one last shot to see if he can make music his full-time job.

Chloe Kohanski is 23 years old and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Miley was one of Chloe’s musical inspirations growing up. She has always wanted to be a singer but after graduation, she decided to go to college to be an English teacher. Soon after, she realized that wasn’t for her, so she quit school and started playing in a blues band. Her decision to pursue music wasn’t exactly what her parents hoped for, as they have always been concerned that the music industry can be unpredictable. While they always want what’s best for Chloe, they are still supportive of her singing. The Voice is Chloe’s chance to make her parents proud and get validation of her musical talent.

Keisha Renee is 30 years old and currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. Keisha was born in Los Angeles and grew up singing at church. Gospel music is definitely her foundation, but after high school she moved to Houston where she discovered country music. Though she fell in love with country, it took her a long time to pursue it because she was often told she would be better suited for pop or R&B. Keisha spent seven years working as a professional background singer, and for the last five years her boss has been Nicki Minaj. Touring with Nicki was absolutely amazing, but after having her daughter Amari two years ago, Keisha underwent a big lifestyle change. Throughout her life she has always struggled with her weight and during her pregnancy she weighed 356 pounds and was diagnosed with diabetes. It was a huge wake-up call for her and Keisha feels having her daughter helped save her life. She has since lost the weight and feels like now is the time to finally go after her true dream of becoming a country artist.

TEAM JENNIFER HUDSON

Davon Fleming is 25 years old and currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland. Davon grew up in a rough neighborhood, experienced a lot of poverty and witnessed hustling on the streets, but he was never caught on the wrong side of the law. Instead, he was known as the singer in his neighborhood. Davon knew he wanted to sing at three years old after watching his mother perform in the church choir. Being a singer was always his mom’s dream before she had kids, but she had to give up that dream in order to support her family. Currently, Davon works as a worship leader and assists with the musical arrangements for the church choir performances.

Shi’Ann Jones is 15 years old and currently resides in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Shi’Ann is one of nine siblings, so it was always hard to stand out in her family. The big singer in her family was her father, Ricky. He was a gospel singer and would travel to different churches to sing. When she was little, Shi’Ann’s dad would teach her music scales. By the time she was four, she was singing around the house. At age seven, she started singing in church with her dad and eventually he set up a PA system in the living room where they would practice together trying to out-riff each other. When Shi’Ann was eight, her father signed her up for her first talent contest, and she started singing at all the soccer and football games in town. In 2015, with the help of her mom, Shi’Ann started to find ways to perform outside of Kentucky. They recorded a video of her performing the national anthem and sent it to every NBA team in the country. The Utah Jazz ended up calling her and she flew out to Utah to perform before a game. Even though she is only 15, she realizes she needs a show such as The Voice to finally make her dreams come true.

Noah Mac is 17 years old and currently resides in Dublin, California. Noah spends most of his time writing and recording music in a studio he built himself in his family’s backyard shed. He got his start in music in the most heartbreaking way – when Noah was seven years old, his 19-year-old sister, Stevie, lost her fight with brain cancer. His sister was his biggest inspiration. Despite his sadness, he decided to sing at her funeral. His performance shocked everyone, including his parents, who had no idea he had a voice. Noah recently produced and released an EP.

TEAM MILEY CYRUS

Brooke Simpson is 26 years old and currently resides in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Brooke is a full-blooded Native American from the Haliwa-Saponi tribe. She grew up on tribal grounds with 4,000 Native Americans, including most of her family. Every year they have a powwow and celebrate their traditions just like their forefathers. She discovered her love of music at age seven when she started singing with her parents. They are full-time evangelists and would take trips every weekend in their RV to different churches to sing as a family, leading praise and worship. Brooke has been performing for many years and it’s gotten to the point where she has started to look for a plan B, so a lot is riding on this audition.

Ashland Craft is 21 years old and currently resides in Piedmont, South Carolina. Ashland comes from a small town where there aren’t a lot of musical opportunities. Her father has been a mechanic his whole life and has always believed in Ashland’s dream of being a musician. He even built her a music studio in the back of his garage in order to help her reach her goals, which has definitely helped her develop as an artist. Currently, Ashland has a steady gig at a local honky-tonk, Wendell’s Dippin Branch, where she is the lead singer of the house band. Though she loves her job, Ashland is hoping The Voice can help her prove that it’s possible to make it no matter where you’re from.

Janice Freeman is 32 years old and currently resides in Compton, California. When Janice was 21 years old, her daughter, Hannah, was born. A few years later, when her daughter was only four, Hannah’s father passed away from cancer. It was really tough being a single mom, but it taught her how to be strong. Janice needed the strength because in 2012 she was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She fought it and survived. In the midst of all the tragedy, she met her wonderfully supportive husband. They have been married for two years, and he even gigs locally with her and her band. Having gone through so much, she is so thankful to be cancer-free and happily married, but needs this shot at a music career to provide stability for Hannah.
