Mark your calendars, “Survivor’s Remorse” fans, as Starz has announced that the fourth season of their acclaimed comedy series will return August 20, 2017. In the new Season 4 trailer (watch above), Jessie T. Usher, who plays young basketball phenom Cam Calloway, says in voice-over, “Sometimes life hits you with bad luck. Try to be someone who doesn’t make bad luck for yourself.”
The premium network confirmed in a press release that in the anticipated fourth season, the Calloways will “continue to grow as a family, taking deeper dives into each character as they wrestle with adulthood and the secrets of their past. The show will also continue to build out its unique characters thanks to a slew of guest stars including DJ Khaled, Isaiah Washington, Vanessa Bell Calloway and more.”
The main “Survivor’s Remorse” cast is back for another season of fun, led by Usher in the lead role. More returning stars include RonReaco Lee (Reggie Vaughn), Tichina Arnold (Cassie Calloway), Erica Ash (Mary Charles “M-Chuck” Calloway) and Teyonah Parris (Missy Vaughn).
The fourth season premiere, titled “Fallout,” is written by creator/showrunner Mike O’Malley. As Starz reveals, the episode starts with both of the Calloway siblings — Cameron and M-Chuck — searching for the truth about their respective fathers. The trailer hints that a scraggly Washington will take on the role of Cam’s dad, who’s serving time in prison.
“Survivors Remorse” has won two Image Awards over the past couple of years: Best Comedy Supporting Actor for Mike Epps in 2016 and Best Comedy Supporting Actress for Arnold in 2017. The popular comedy has yet to contend at the Emmy Awards.
