“It’s the million-dollar moment,” says Jennifer Lopez in NBC’s preview for the season finale of “World of Dance,” which airs on Tuesday night, August 8 (watch above). The series debuted this summer with Jennifer Lopez executive producing. The singer-actress also judges the competition alongside Emmy winning choreographer Derek Hough (“Dancing with the Stars”) and Grammy winning recording artist Ne-Yo. The series is hosted by Jenna Dewan Tatum. And it was picked up for a second season after only five episodes.
“World of Dance” pits dancers against each other from all walks of life — from individuals to duos to groups, from contemporary to hip-hop to ballroom. After nine episodes, the competition narrowed down to three world finalists who were the best in their divisions. The high-flying Swing Latino won the Team Division (competitors age 18 and over with five or more members). Les Twins prevailed in the Upper Division (competitors age 18 and over with up to four members). And Eva Igo was the champ in the Junior Division (competitors under 18). Now after competing against their division peers they will be pitted against each other to win the $1 million grand prize.
